For many people, their smile is one of their best qualities, and they would love to have a nice, beautiful smile for the rest of their life. With the developments in dentistry, it is now possible to always have a perfect smile. One of the best ways to keep a great smile for as long as possible is to use veneers.

Veneers attach to the teeth to keep them safe and provide a pleasant and appealing shape. Veneers will have a similar natural color to the original color of the tooth and will be shaped in such a way to make the denture perfect.

Getting veneers is not complicated and will take a few weeks. The time may differ slightly from one dentist to another and from patient to patient. Also, the prices are different from one state to another. For example, veneers in Charlotte, NC are less expensive than veneers in California.

Veneers are made of different types of materials, and they are safe and do not require much maintenance based on the type of veneer you choose. It is up to the patient to decide which would suit them better based on their dentist's observations. For example, porcelain veneers can last around 10 to 15 years and are very thin. Below is a list of some of the most popular types of veneers.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are the most popular choice due to their many benefits. The main reason is how strong and long-lasting it is. Customers will not have to worry about changing them for ten to fifteen years. Porcelain is a material that does not affect the gums and will not cause irritations or other damage. It is also stain-resistant and very smooth and pleasant to the touch. It will not harm the tongue or other teeth when chewing.

Another advantage of porcelain veneers is how closely they match the shades of natural teeth. They will not only look natural due to the color, but they tend to be thinner than other veneers. There will be no difference between it and the natural tooth. A non-professional eye will never be able to spot the difference between a porcelain veneer and a natural tooth.

The only disadvantage of this veneer is for patients who don't have much time to wait for the dentist to complete the veneers. The process takes a few weeks, and some patients might be in a hurry, despite its many advantages.

Ceramic Veneers

Ceramic veneers are similar to porcelain veneers from some points of view. They are also stain-resistant and made of durable material.

However, some people notice them more easily. They do not look as natural as porcelain veneers. The plus is that the process of attaching them is not as time-consuming as the process for porcelain. Chemicals are used to attach them to the tooth, and the process is not easily reversible.

Removable Veneers

There is also the option of removable veneers. These are instant veneers that will quickly mold to the tooth's shape. They are removable and not recommended for daily use.

There is one more type of removable veneer that can be created in a dental lab after taking an impression of the teeth. Removable veneers have a few disadvantages because they do not look as natural as permanent veneers. If they are also put on and taken off daily, plaque will build up and could require a visit to the dentist before the problem gets too bad.
